Meet Check-in : Swimmers & Volunteers
VOLUNTEER CHECK-IN
How does it work and Why is it important?
ALL Volunteers please check in with our volunteer coordinators by no later than posted swimmer warm up time.
Meet officials, (Timers, Stroke & Turn, Clerks of Course, Official Recorder, Runner, and Place Judges) need to attend the Officials Meeting prior to meet start.
SWIMMER CHECK-IN
How does it work and Why is it important?
SeaDragon’s check-in process is a “positive check-in” procedure. This means that the swimmer or their parent must go to the Sea Dragon check-in table and highlight their swimmer that they are present and ready to swim.
You must be there and check the swimmer in by the designated time (5PM), or we can not guarantee the swimmer will be allowed to compete, they may be “scratched” from one or more events.
WHY IS CHECK-IN SO CRITICAL?
• Meet must start promptly at 6pm or could result in a DQ or loss in points
• We lose points when we have “No Shows” that are not accounted for at meet start.
• Entire heats may have to be scratched if we are unable to fill the heat, this means other swimmers lose out of swimming
• There is a limited window of time to update the heat sheet lineup for the meet. Absent or unchecked in swimmers results in confusion and mass changes to the lineup that consists of 140+ swimmers. This has to be ready to by by the start of the meet.
WHAT IF WE ARE RUNNING LATE?
Please have a fellow Sea Dragon swimmer or parent check your swimmer in on your behalf.
WHAT IF OUR SCHEDULE CONFLICTS WITH ARRIVING IN TIME FOR FIRST EVENT?
Please email our head coach and/or the Team Meet Managers letting us know of your swimmer’s status. If the coaches are aware that your swimmer is unable to make it for the initial event, such as Medley Relay, then the coach will not put your swimmer in that line up but will put your swimmer in later events. Same applies if you swimmer needs to leave early from a meet, the Coach will not put your swimmer in the line up for later events. NOTE: During Meet Sign Up, you can designate if you swimmer will be late or will need to leave early
